There are more official SEGA websites out there than you may think, they’re certainly not all Japanese either! Visiting official websites not only helps support the company that has given us some of the worlds greatest games and consoles, but also helps the SEGA community. We here at SEGA Media have compiled a list of Official SEGA websites worth visiting ranging from the regional websites, to blogs and some that just ooze fun.
SEGA of Japan – www.sega.jp
The motherland. The head office. The mecca. Whatever you want to call it this is SEGAs official website for their Japanese division. Quite nifty as you can check out all the new Japanese areas of SEGA before they arrive into other regions, there’s also sections for the arcade side of SEGA too. Unfortunately unless you can read Japanese you’ll understand very little of it!
SEGA of America – www.sega.com
For all of you fans stateside this is the first place to go to to get official news, blog updates, game information and much more. One of the best parts of the SEGA of America website is the comprehensive forum that they have which is packed full of SEGA fans with all kinds of SEGA topics to talk about.
SEGA of Europe – www.sega.co.uk
Very similar to the SEGA of America website but tailored to all the European folk. Also home to well known SEGA Community Manager, ArchAngelUK, so the blog on here is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Also, the only reason we used the British flag in the picture is that their offices are located in London, UK.
Play SEGA – www.playsega.co.uk
Forget any other online arcade, this is the shiz my friends. Not only does Play SEGA let you play the usual arcade classics but you can also play Mega Drive/Genesis classics too! There’s also a great member and ‘ring’ system too. Free to jump in and play, so why not give it a go?
The Sonic City Blognik - http://blogs.sega.com/sonic/
The best source for official Sonic updates and discussion in English. Fantastic for any Sonic fan wanting to get the latest and greatest out of SEGA! This blog is maintained by the good folks over at SEGA Europe.
Sonic Team - www.sonicteam.com
Official website from the team behind Sonic of course. Not only that but as one of SEGAs major in-house developers, you can find information here about Sonic Teams other creations such as NiGHTS into Dreams and Billy Hatcher amongst others.
Sonic Channel - http://sonic.sega.jp/
SEGA of Japans Sonic related efforts placed into their own neat little corner. Featuring some fantastic bits of Sonic heritage and essentially a blog on the Sonic side of things… in Japanese of course!
